A.P. Chemistry 12
• Optional Provincial Examination, worth 40% of the course.
• Qualified candidates may choose to write the A.P. Chemistry Exam in May
• Prerequisite: Chemistry 11 or Chemistry 11H; Application & Teacher recommendation are required.
• A.P. Chemistry 12 is a higher-level Chemistry course equivalent to a first year university offering.
In addition to the Chemistry 12 curriculum, topics will include Structure of Matter; States of Matter;
Reactions; and Descriptive Chemistry. A.P. Chemistry will emphasize laboratory techniques, chemical
calculations and extended application of the scientific method.
