Should there be any weather related school closures...
On occasion, it may be necessary to close Burnaby public schools for instruction due to inclement weather. If this should happen, an announcement will be posted on the weather closure page of the district website http://sd41.bc.ca/parents/weather_closure.htm and information provided to local media* outlets by 6 am. It is important for schools and the district to keep their phone lines free for emergency purposes so please do not call the schools or the district office for this information.

BC School Fruit and Vegetable Program
We are please to announce that our school has been accepted into the BC School Fruit and vegetable Nutritional Program sponsored by B.C. Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation and ActNowBC.

Our school is involved in a province-wide healthy living initiative. One of the goals is to encourage healthy eating by providing fresh B.C. Fruits and Vegetables to the students during classroom time. The students will receive picked, washed, and ready-to-enjoy produce twice every other week at no charge!

To ensure every student's health and safety during this program, please return this [FORM] if you:

ATRT 3 Plus Student Take Home Program

Automotive Career: Interested Grade 11 and 12 students - VCC's Auto Collision Repair ACE-IT program starts on September 29th and has 7 spaces available. You attend Mon - Thurs @ VCC and school on Fridays. Grade 12's: 30 work experience opportunities are available with Elections Canada. You must be available October 4, 5 and 7th. These are paid positions and thus are only available to students on the 30-hour work experience program.

New Legislation – Banning Tobacco and Smoking in Public Places and Schools
On September 2nd, 2007, the provincial government passed a law prohibiting all persons from smoking or using tobacco, or holding lighted tobacco, in or on school property. Please remember that this law is in effect at all times on school grounds.

Provincial Exam Results
Students must visit the ministry website - www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams to view their marks. You must have your PEN number (which you will find on your report card) to create a login in the "Student Secure Web".
